My First Blog Hop . . . Hope it works!

I am linking up with Ashley at Fierce in Fourth for my first blog hop.  I am a newer blogger and working hard to learn all the tricks...although, I know I still have a lot to learn.

The first day of school is right around the corner . . . 3 weeks to be exact!  It is always around this time that my jitters start to set in.  My body clock begins to revert to school time and I inevitably end up waking up at 5am again as I fret over all the things that need to be done - at home and school.  Here are a few of my jitters:

1.  Getting it all done!  Ok, I know that it a given, but every year - for the past 17 in fact - I have said I am going to get into my classroom over the summer and do some major purging and organizing.  Well, that has yet to be done! I know it will. The room will be beautiful and, I will be ready for my new kiddos.  But in the meantime - yikes!

2.  Balancing school, family, sports, kids schedules, the hubby's schedule . . .You get the picture.  I have four busy kids, a husband who also teaches and has a hectic coaching schedule.  I am changing grade levels, although to one I am very familiar with, and taking classes to complete my CTEL.  Needless to say my fall will be a crazy adjustment - Can you say 0-60 in nothing flat?

3.  My Blog.  While it has been crazy fun to dive in and learn all sorts of new things, it has taken me a lot of time to play around.  I really want it to be a way for parents to see inside the classroom and get to know me and our school a bit better.  I am hoping to provide lots of resources and suggestions.  There are so many fabulous blogs out there and I am thankful for the opportunity to stalk and learn from them.  Slow and steady will be my mantra here!  I have jitters now that all the links show up!  Sorry if they don't - I am still learning!

That's where my jitters are.  How about you?  Link up with Ashley and share.

Blessings,

Mrs. M

  1. Love your blog! Thanks for linking up to my jitters blog! :)

You sound like you are extremely busy! How in the world do you manage everything? I can't even imagine having a family of my own and having to organize my life in the way I'm sure you do!!

    1. Thanks Ashley! I am amazed by your younger generation of teacher - not that I am old - but you guys are so creative and talented at making such awesome things for your classrooms. And so willing to share your knowledge! Thanks for the support!

    1. Thanks for following. It is so exciting to see this little adventure grow. Love your blog - sounds like you have your hands full this year with your new assignment. I would love to do something like that if I ever had the chance. Plan to go back and join your linky about reluctant readers later today.

  4. Great idea to expand into a blog Amy. You always had a gift for writing and sharing with others. This will help your students, parents, and friends know the latest updates for the Mello's. You are so prepared and know your new group of kinder's will love you as they all have in the past. They will be excited with the start of "real" school.

Have a great school year to all the teachers!

    Blessings more,

    Claudia

  5. Hi! I too have the jitters about not just school, but family obligations. I'll be back to the grind in a couple of weeks, but leading up to it I'm forcing myself to get super organized. I too have four kids and a hubby. It can definitely be a juggling act. I found your blog through the linky and would love if you could hop on over to check out my blog when you get a chance.

    1. Thanks Tammy! My hubby is a teacher too so it makes it super crazy with getting the kids ready and both of us getting our classrooms ready. We report back Thursday! Good luck this year.
